Today, I have the pleasure of moderating the FRANCE PAYMENTS FORUM panel alongside its president Hervé SITRUK on the ECB’s wholesale payment initiatives: #Pontes and #Appia #blockchain based #CBDC projects

➡️ How can Europe build a sovereign, interoperable and competitive infrastructure for tokenised finance?


➡️ #Pontes will connect DLT markets to central bank money, while Appia carries a broader vision for Europe’s future tokenised financial ecosystem. At the same time, market is moving fast too Swift is developing a blockchain-based shared ledger with more than 40 financial institutions. #DeFi is proposing alternative solutions, #Bitcoin and #Lightning are accelerating their adoption worldwide.


The challenge is no longer choosing between central bank money, tokenised deposits and stablecoins. It is making them work together—with clear rules, legal certainty, interoperability and 24/7 availability.


Europe must shape these standards, not inherit them.
